Government Support for Employee’s Salaries

On Friday night, the Government updated their guidance for employers, businesses and employees. These can be found here –

Covid-19 Guidance for Employees

The main section of the update was the pledge to pay up to 80% of the wages of employees not working up to a maximum of £2,500 per month provided they were employed as of 29th February 2020.

The details of how to access this scheme have still to be announced – we will update further in due course.

It is still anticipated that it will early this week before we start to see the detail around the Business Interruption Loan Scheme. In the meantime, we would advise that you start to consider what the funding gap might look like and if you need any assistance with this please reach out.

We will of course stand ready to assist with the application process.

The Scottish Government have also created a page of guidance which can be found here – https://findbusinesssupport.gov.scot/coronavirus-advice

This page provides very specific Scottish guidance and links to where you can start the rates relief process. You can also sign up for their newsletters which we would advise doing.

We stand ready to help so please reach out if you need us.
